mcthfg started in early 2001, after I moved from Milwaukee to San Francisco. I played in many bands, most notably Superbacana (with a single on Ubiquity’s “Rewind II”) Ubzorb, a dub/rock band that featured sitar, erhu, bass, female vocals, electronics and hand percussion), and The Space Traveling Nostril Hairs, which did a few shows with the infamous Mochipet. I currently live in Changwon, South Korea.
I’m inspired by many styles of music and artists – from Joy Division and New Order to The Grateful Dead to Tipper and Telefon Tel Aviv, as well as people in the psybient/dub genre – Ott, Shpongle, International Observer, Bluetech, Waterjuice, Pitch Black, and many others.
I’m really grateful to Jasper at Dubmission Records for all the hard work – most of my music consists of long pieces (15-20 minutes), and I feel very lucky that he took the time to listen and support what I do. Also, thanks to Toby Marks for the amazing mastering. And to all the people who have listened and bought the release – a very heartfelt “Thank you.”
I’m currently working with a bass player, and putting together a tour for later this year.
